How to Ride a Bicycle
Originally aired October 7, 1935, this episode finds Fibber McGee in rare form as he encounters a young neighbor named Helen struggling to learn how to ride her bicycle. Always eager to exaggerate his own talents, Fibber boasts of his vaudeville days as “Cycle McGee, the Side-Wheeling Sensation of the Sun Circuit,” and insists on giving Helen a few pointers. What follows is a series of hilarious misadventures involving unicycles, outlandish tales of African bike rides, and a rather inconveniently broken coaster brake.
From slapstick tumbles to side-splitting tall tales, Fibber’s antics leave Molly—and the audience—shaking their heads in amusement. Complete with Johnson’s Glow Coat ads and remastered for clarity, this charming installment of Fibber McGee & Molly rolls out classic golden-age radio comedy at its finest.
