Managing A Jewelry Store

Originally aired December 7, 1936, this episode finds Fibber on the hunt for a little Christmas “pin money” and bluffing his way into a temporary gig at the Wistful Vista Jewelry Shop after claiming he spotted a flaw in a window diamond at 30 miles an hour. From there, the sales floor becomes a circus: a Scot tries to set his watch by a showroom full of clocks that all tell different times; Mrs. Wearybottom nearly talks herself out of buying a fountain pen; and the ever-slippery Horatio K. Boomer peddles “Brazilian diamonds” by the pound while Fibber proudly counts the twenty-seven dollars in the till.
